It was a crazy early Halloween-Valentine's Day mash-up this past weekend, beginning with the First Annual Alameda Zombie Crawl, a bloody success story which kicked off at Forbidden Island Tiki Lounge, with "zombification" makeup sessions, $6 zombie cocktails and a "zombie theater," and then ending with Thrillville's Valentine's Beach Party, at the Balboa Theater in San Francisco, with a screening of Beach Blanket Bingo, a live pre-movie performance by local legend Kitten on the Keys and a special guest celebrity appearance by singing star Donna Loren, who performed a special medley after the flick (in which she sings "It Only Hurts When I Cry"). It was an honor to meet Donna who is real sweetheart - she looks and sounds beautiful as well. The crowd ate her up and she was mobbed in the lobby after the movie. Before the show, Monica and I had cocktails at the nearby Cliff House, at sunset. All in all, a gory, ginchy, glamorous way to spend the holiday. I'll let the photos do the rest of the talking.
