Kevin Tenney's BRAIN DEAD: It's Alive!

In addition to my booking/PR gigs for Speakeasy Theaters and Forbidden Island, I am now front man for Monogram Releasing, a film/Blu-Ray/DVD distribution company out of the Midwest masterminded by Bill Dever, who organizes the B Movie Celebration in Franklin, Indiana, which I co-hosted last year. Monogram is in the business of acquiring new B/exploitation film product for both home and theatrical exhibition. A big one is coming up soon, on March 20, 2009: Kevin (Night of the Demons) Tenney's BRAIN DEAD. This is the most entertaining monster movie I've seen in a while: aliens, zombies, gore, big bare boobies, skinny dipping lesbians, escaped convicts, pervert preachers, and that's just the first 15 minutes!

I love a movie that makes no apologies to its audience. Reminds me of the glory grindhouse days of the 70s. Tenney brings back that Anything Goes approach. You've seen all this before - gratuitous nudity, catfights, hypocritical clergy, slimy parasite slugs from outer space, zombie brain munching, psycho criminals, a motley crew of misfits holed up in a cabin fending off flesh-eating ghouls - in fact, you've seen this in the work of Kevin Tenney, as well as classics like Night of the Creeps and Slither. But if you're like me, and hopefully for the sake of your loved ones you're not, and you can't get enough of no-holds-barred, shameless, escapist, exploitation cinema, Brain Dead is the movie for you. The script is very witty, and the makeup and effects are excellent, too. Especially the boobs - they look so real....

Brains, bad guys, beasts, and breasts: you add the beer and you got yourself the ultimate B Movie Experience. To say I recommend this movie is an understatement. If you like zombies, if you like girls, if you like you like movies, if you like enjoying yourself, you HAVE to see it, in any format. Below is a list of theaters where it will be playing soon, and eventually I will book it for Thrillville. Cheers.
